Due to the success of the Mary Bullivant Memorial Forest, a further location 'The Mosses' has been graciously donated by Lancashire County Council for the planting of memorial trees. Set in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Northwest of England. The planting site itself overlooks a panoramic view of the Clitheroe.
The new planting area is located on Beacon Fell Road before the T-junction for Carwags Lane. As you drive clockwise round the one way road the memorial forest is on your left hand side and parking is on the right.
Inside the forest a circular route will be cut around the existing coups of trees. Along this route memorial trees will be planted. Any cutting in this area will only take place outside of the bird's ground nesting season. The majority of the field will remain uncut to provide a much used habitat for the wildlife in this area.
A short drive or a walk through the fell takes you to the well appointed Visitors' Centre in which there is a cafe area and information centre.
Life for a Life planting areas are natural environments where we encourage wildlife and plantlife to flourish, as such additional items should not be added to the tree or the space around it, especially as they can cause damage to the tree. Please be aware that any prohibited items left on or around memorial trees will be removed.
